Motivational Weight Loss Story

 I think it's a good time for my weight loss blog to contain such content. Anyway, some people asked me to write something about it. Well then why not as it can be a great motivation for many people. I did not take weight loss with great pressure. Everything I do in life I put in perspective and that's how it was in this case. Thanks to motivation and determination, my weight loss can come to light. I invite you to read, I hope that at least a small part of you is motivated to fight against unnecessary kilograms.


For a long time I postponed the publication of such an entry, because I do not want to create appearances as if I play the emotions of others to beg for compliments in the comments ... But I want to share my story with others, because once I wanted to lose weight, just like you, so I want to show that it is possible and without I don't know what… Therefore, we give this information in the hands of the Internet.

I've always wanted to lose weight, but nothing got me the " time is now " urge . Always happy next to a loving husband, so what for? But as the years went by, a few loving kilograms arrived. I thought about doing something about it, but had no idea how to do it.

On the Internet, all I could read was to alternate " try pills so and so " and " diet and exercise will help ." Now I know that just using the pills doesn't help much - they have to be combined with a well-balanced diet and exercise (optional), and dieting and exercising also requires a lot of sacrifices. This all looks nice and easy on screen, but I've never done it before.

Double disappointment… 😞

So I started trying different diets , including restrictive ones like the Nordic diet  or  the Dukan diet . Rather, anyone who starts using this diet knows that it is not very healthy for the body , but that rewards the rapid loss of kilograms. In fact, I did lose something, but what if after these 2 weeks ( the maximum period of being on a restrictive diet ) the yo-yo effect appeared ? The double yo-yo effect is probably the worst feeling that accompanied me at that time. So I gave up on this way of losing weight.

A little later, I came up with a great plan!

Two years ago I got serious about losing weight. I started, so called, „ couch to 5K (C25K) ” which can be translated to „ from the couch up to 5 kilometers ”. The plan I used is published on my blog, so I direct those interested to the article. The whole plan lasted 9 weeks . During this time, I reduced my daily caloric intake ( gradually reduced to a certain level because I really didn't know how much I could lose weight ) and tried to cut back on the sweets that I sincerely adore. Often times, instead of chocolate, I opted for berries or strawberries.

Unfortunately it didn't give me the expected results… 😱

DURING 9 WEEKS I LOST ONLY 1.3 KG!  I understood that diet and exercise alone would not help me much. He needed more.

Advice from friends

I spoke with some friends about how they were losing weight. They recommended the Nutrisystem diet, which offers special, prepackaged products that come to your home. Frankly, it was the first time I heard about them. They told me a bit and I found out that the effects are already noticeable after a week of use . I have read a lot of weight loss blogs where this diet is all about, and I really enjoy looking at photos where, from one week to the next, the weight indicates less.

After my nine weeks of failures, I began to believe that the program recommended by my friends was the one that was going to help me lose weight.

The problem was, even if I was cooking for my husband, he wouldn't even be able to taste a bite. That was definitely not for me. He did not want to eat a packaged meal for how long is unknown.

I have to admit that for a moment that didn't want to get out of my head because it sounds interesting, but think about it… would prepackaged foods help you lose weight if diet and exercise didn't? He was not convinced of this type of diet.

I decided to go back to the couch to 5 km plan , but I promised myself that I was going to try harder… I knew what it was like in the past, so I decided to add something to this plan. Choose exercises for different parts of the body . I printed out some instruction sheets and decided to administer the entire week except Sunday (for the break). So that looked like this: Monday - C25K, Tuesday - exercises, Wednesday - C25K, Thursday - exercises, Friday - C25K, Saturday - exercises, and Sunday for a well-deserved rest.

Suddenly something came to my mind and I remembered what people were writing on the Internet. Besides diet and exercise, they also write about a good supplement . I thought, " why not if I have come this far without the effects ?" I started searching. I mean, my daily life looked like this:  training ,  supplementation,  and  light diet  in the form of reducing what is not good. I have completely eliminated sweet drinks for mineral water. Every day he drank 1-1.5 liters. I was also trying to reduce the sugar a bit. I stopped frying and started steaming.

First week

During the first week I didn't weigh myself once. I did it only on Sunday morning . How I was surprised when the weight showed about a kilo and a half less . After all, it's a little more than the 9 weeks of the C25K plan alone! I was incredibly motivated to keep acting.

Next weeks

I'm not going to describe every day of every week because I just don't remember it. All the time he practiced practically the same exercises . Only the C25K plan changed. Each week required a little more strength and commitment (I write about this plan here). My weight was checked regularly every Sunday around 8:00 in the morning. It was amazing because the weight was coming down. In the first week it was a little more than 1kg, and in the next almost 2kg! It all lasted  9 weeks  (as long as the C25K plan requires ), but after finishing the treatment I still tried walking / running 2-3 times a week so as not to fall into the yo-yo trap. Was it worth it? And a lot!

How much weight did I lose?

I have intentionally not provided my weight throughout this article so that I can hold the tension to the end. My weight loss took 9 weeks + a few weeks to stabilize, because I was afraid of the yo-yo effect, so the whole process took about 3-4 months. In 9 weeks I lost 13.5kg! Every week I lost 1-2 kg. Sometimes less, sometimes more, but he lost. Most importantly, everything was done in a healthy way. The yo-yo effect did not appear, and since then I have maintained some habits: I drink only water, I avoid sugar, I cook steam, etc. etc.

What was it that had the most influence?

I don't think I can select such a thing. I remember once using the C25K plan and for 9 weeks I lost only about 1.3kg. In my opinion, everything has contributed to the overall success.
